It’s tempting to use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to write content for your insurance agency.
We love new technology that makes our lives easier, but with AI writing tools still in their infancy, we want to help you make sure you use them in a way that truly benefits your business.
AI content has its challenges, and if not reviewed and edited properly, it can do more harm than good. Here’s how to do it well.
Be specific
If you give AI a generic prompt, it’s going to write generic copy in return. Always start with a specific prompt and provide as much information as possible upfront. You can always delete what you don’t need.
Fix inaccurate information
Read through everything AI writes for you to make sure there’s no false information. Very frequently, AI will make statements that simply aren’t true. Because of the nature of the insurance business, it’s critical that you review everything the AI writes for you and make appropriate revisions.
Make it human
Once you’ve verified you have the details you need and the copy is factual, it’s time to make some edits. Review the content closely and ask yourself if it sounds like a person wrote it. Is it conversational? Does it use simple words? Do the sentences vary in length? Does it tell a story? Make edits to improve what the AI wrote for you. In addition to improving readability, making a few edits will help make sure your copy is unique.
Keep SEO in mind
Every piece of content on your website needs to be written with search engine optimization (SEO) in mind. SEO is complex, but there are a few simple steps you can take to make sure your content yields better results. One of those steps is making sure your content is unique. Unique website content makes you more memorable to prospects and improves your SEO. If you use generic copy provided by your website company, chances are hundreds of other agents are using the exact same copy too. A few human edits can make your website stand out from your competitors and rank better in search results.
Run your content through an AI detector
Once you’ve edited the content AI wrote, run it through an AI content detector. There are many free tools online that will analyze your text and tell you if it seems to have been written by a robot or by a person. Look for AI analyzer, AI classifier or AI detector. Make more edits until your content appears as if a human wrote it.
Note that as of July 2023, OpenAI took down their AI detector due to lack of accuracy, but others still exist. Use your judgment when using AI tools as this technology is changing rapidly.
Let’s give all of this a try
Let’s say you’re working on your website, and you need to write an “About us” page for your agency. We asked our AI tool, CircleAI™ to help us. CircleAI is part of our websites, helping agents write custom content quickly and easily.
We gave CircleAI this prompt and we asked it to be as professional as possible in its response.
